RESPONSIBILITIES -
After School Counselors will:
- Ensure the safety and engagement of a group of 20
children through all program activities, including snack,
homework help, field trips, transitions, and activities.
- Ensure that progress is made and assistance is provided
during homework, and activity period.
- Serve as positive role models and uphold professional
behavior at all times.
- Plan and involve children in a range of
multi-disciplinary activities.
- Constructively collaborate with co-workers, and
communicate regularly with supervisory staff.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding
progress and problem solving.
- Maintain responsibility for designated program supplies
and proper use of all facilities, including the program area
space.
- Complete necessary documentation and administrative
tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enthusiasm, desire to learn, sense of humor.
- Demonstrated or expressed commitment to positive youth
development.
- Ability to commit for the entire summer & school year as
well as a full week schedule;
- Mon. – Fri. 2:30pm – 6 pm.
- Spanish speakers a plus.
- Interest and/or experience in recreation and/or in the
arts (dance, music, drama/storytelling, or visual arts) are
a plus.
- Current enrollment in High School, college.

2:30pm –
6:00pm Monday through Friday
Some
training is held outside of program hours, and staff is required
to attend.
